Introduction

Woody plants can be divided into four main groups: trees, shrubs, vines and ground covers. They often form the backbone of our landscapes while providing beauty and ecosystem services. One key strategy CCE uses to support long-term sustainability and well-being of communities is increasing the number of residents practicing management tactics in homes, lawns, gardens and landscapes that support environmental stewardship - including proper selection and maintenance of woody plants.
