Assignment 1.1: Introduction to the Portfolio Project: Crafting Your Introductory Statement
Think of your portfolio as your "tool box" of lesson plans, program planning guides and assessments based on the principles of garden-based learning. By the time you finish this course, you will have a collection lesson plans, a comprehensive program plan, and examples of tried and true garden-based learning activities, all which will serve as the framework to build a larger, project-based unit of study or youth gardening program.
In this module, you will begin working on your Introductory Statement of your portfolio, a brief summary about how you view garden-based learning and what you hope to achieve in this course.
In the end, you will leave this course with a portfolio of garden-based learning activities and program planning guides, ready to use in the classroom or youth gardening program. Additionally, a synopsis of your self-reflective Learning Journal will be included in your portfolio, providing evidence of how you have grown and what you have learned in this course.
