This section of the introduction module will provide you with a general understanding of the key features on Moodle that you’ll be using throughout the course: Submitting Assignments, Uploads, the Discussion Forum and Downloads. These tools are designed to make your learning experience seamless and engaging. Let’s get started!

In this course most of your assignments will be to watch an embedded video, navigate to an external link to access resources or upload a written document that you create. To access an assignment, navigate through the lesson or click on the assignment by clicking the carrot and dropdown menu on the left side of the screen. When completing an assignment, each task will have instructions on how to attach, upload or indicate that you have completed the task. Once completed, you should be able to advance to the next lesson.

There may be times throughout the course where you may need to download a document order to view or access them. In this case, click the link to the document and a download should start automatically. If it does not, and a new window appears with a PDF version of the document, hover over the top of the page, and you should be able to locate the printer icon and download it by clicking on that icon. The download feature can also be useful when you are working on an assignment that you will have to upload to Moodle to show incremental progress.

In Module 1, you will gain access to a Reflection Journal. This is the only Reflection Journal that you will use throughout the program, however, you will be asked to save your progress and upload the journal periodically so the instructor can review and offer feedback when and if applicable. Later in the course, as you begin to develop an independent study project, you will also download a planning document one time, but upload it periodically to share your progress with the instructor.

To practice using the first two features: navigating links to complete assignments and downloading documents, please complete your first two assignments, and submit an attestation confirming you have completed each assignment.
