There are a number of hands-on activities that can be done during your in-person sessions. They are designed to be done individually, as a class or in small groups. They may also serve as homework. Ask your CCE volunteer coordinator to access the Garden-Based Learning Library to download and explore more of these activities.

  • How might elements of your identity impact your role as a peer educator? And your contributions to a peer learning network?
  • What inspires you to learn and reach beyond your garden gate to connect with individuals and families in your community?
  • What do you think you bring to the CCE Master Gardener Volunteer experience? Consider broadly your experiences, knowledge, skills, attitude, and passions.

After answering these questions, complete this Identity Pie Chart Worksheet (1 pg), which, if assigned can be submitted as a Journal Entry or printed off your computer and handed in at your next class session.
