Final Discussion Forum: Time to Celebrate!
One way to generate excitement in your school or community garden is by holding special events and celebrations at the garden. These can include volunteer parties to construct or maintain the garden, a ribbon-cutting ceremony to 'open' the garden, plant and seed giveaways, garden tours led by students/participants, harvest parties and cooking demonstrations using food harvested from the garden.
These celebrations are important for bringing more people to your garden, showcasing the work done by students and participants, and most importantly, demonstrating that gardens are places of joy and excitement!
For the last discussion forum of our course, please share information about any special celebrations you have already hosted at your garden, or any ideas or plans you have for future events. Please feel free to include photos of garden celebrations from your own garden or other gardens if you want!
🌻 Thank you for all your thoughtful and engaging discussions throughout this course. We learned so much from each other, and know we will use this information and ideas as we move forward with our projects! ~Donna
