Hey classmates!
Gardening has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents, both from the tropics, surrounded our home with houseplants and lush, eye-catching landscapes. It wasn’t just about looks; it was about creating a space that felt alive and inviting. That early exposure is what sparked my love for planning and designing gardens that are both functional and beautiful.
What I love most now is seeing a garden come together and watching it start conversations, people stopping to ask what plant they’re looking at, how something tastes, or commenting on a thriving herb garden. My plant style is pretty eclectic. I love the odd and unusual, from orchids to my starfish cactus (Stapelia), which puts on a stunning bloom that smells terrible, but for good reason, since it attracts pollinators!
I was inspired to become a Master Gardener Volunteer to deepen my knowledge and help others succeed. I’m especially excited to learn more about plant health, disease prevention, and how to help plants reach their full potential. I’m really looking forward to learning, working, and volunteering alongside all of you.
