Caran D'Ache/ Watercolor Pencils

Has anyone had much experience using watercolor pencils like the Prismalo II Aquarelle Caran D'Ache pencils? I've had a set for many years -given to me by my parents, but have always been a bit intimidated by them. I've had fun this week just using them as colored pencils -a medium that I haven't used since grade school! I know coloring books are popular for all ages these days -guess I'm behind the times. I really enjoyed the meditative process of using and coloring with these pencils-very different from watercolor used in Botanical Illustration II.

Just wondering what others experience has been this past week and otherwise?

I have a few Caran D'Ache PASTEL PENCILS and they are really rich and can be applied dark. That's not what you are asking, but my experience with that brand is fantasic. Great quality. Great coverage and application.

Thanks Janel -I'll check those out! Sonja suggested that using multiple layers of the Caran Dache pencils are necessary( as with othered colored pencils) to get saturated color. The pastels sound good!
