Hello all,

I'm running about a week behind on this course so my apologies for the late post.

Sounds like we all want to keep going after this course is over. I've loved getting to learn so much and connecting with you all here. The forum over the last 3 sessions has been really a wonderful thing for me- I don't have any art friends IRL so it's been so great to hear from others with the same passion and interests. I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's work and hearing (reading) your thoughts on all these different subjects.

I've thought about what is next for me quite a lot. There's so much more to learn and I feel like I'm just getting started with all of this. I will definitely be taking the course on how to paint birds with Jane Kim, and continuing with the botanicals as well through books and tutorials. If I can find another course that is online and structured like this one, I'd love to keep going in a more formal way as well.  I've found that the structure of this course has really helped me advance quicker than if I were to only try tutorials that I 'felt like' doing. There's something about being required to do an assignment that really helped me to stretch my capabilities!

Good morning Bethany!
I would definitely like to keep in touch. I will let you know if I discover any great classes or books and please do the same. I am looking forward to the pilot course Sonja is putting together...it looks very interesting.

Hi Shelly (and everyone!)- yes, would love to stay in touch! I'm on Facebook as Bethany Wetzel Ly... or if you're on instagram, I have an abandoned art account that I may start posting on in some form or other, that account is urbanfolktale. (It's not currently painting, right now it's jewelry from a few years ago) And YES I would love to hear if you find any good classes or books! Definitely looking forward to to the pilot course as well :)

I have one more source of classes to share
Haris-Transmitting Science.

They offer a few illustration courses. I took one that was really useful.

Hi Bethany - I’m even farther behind! I agree with everything you've said here and especially the part about how the structure of the course and the forums help one advance so much more quickly. There is also the advantage of getting Sonja's feedback, which is always gentle and very useful. One bit of feedback can make a huge difference in one's technique.
