I’ve always loved to draw, paint, and sculpt from a very young age- My mom was a ceramics artist and taught me from the time I could play with clay and hold a paintbrush. I also grew up in Portland, Oregon, which is so lush and there are flowers, plants, gardens and trees everywhere. My childhood was filled with the scent of roses from our yard and trips to public gardens.
It was a natural step that my passion for art began to intersect with botanicals. I went to college, got an art degree in ceramics, and sold my art part time until I had my 2nd daughter. I (so sadly) put my ceramics studio away due to space constraints, and was so busy for a number of years that I didn’t have time to create much.
I decided to take learning to draw and paint seriously a bit over a year, so here I am! I love sculpting and pottery, but I REALLY love that drawing and painting don’t require many tools or much space. There’s so much to love about drawing and painting. I know I still have a lot of learning to do, but the more I learn, the more I love it.
