Hi all - hope you are doing well -

Thanks for continuing to plug through the resources and your projects amongst all of the other things going on in life.  I'll continue to send along little incentives along the way - reach Level 9 and I'll send Design for How People Learn, from my favorite instructional design writer, Julie Dirksen.

Reminder: PDLC sess on reviewing and assessing data.    This was a request that came in recently.  You may have seen that I sent an invitation to each of you for a session on 9/14 from 2-3pm.

In this session, we will:

  • Review data from Qualtrics (what does it mean, how do you look at it)
  • Do a data assessment with Excel using a pivot table
  • Use Chat GPT to see trends from qualitative data

If you have other specific Qs – e-mail me in advance.  If you need to/want to go farther than this intro to data assessment I can schedule something additional.

We will have a new PDLC group from Suffolk County joining us in this Moodle course as of 9/8.  Look for new names in the discussions.  You can reply to them as well - or just observe.  I'm going to put them in a "group" within our Moodle - but know that is a new experience for me so I'm not 100% confident about how the user experience will be. :) just being honest

Mallory asked today about project completion (woohoo!).  The equation for finishing PDLC (instructions for all of this are in our shared Google Folder https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bZ2sw_k3h8KFzsPFY653miLtdi_9T6Z4?usp=sharing (also findable in the "helpful links" section on our Moodle:

  • complete topic content (check things off as you do them)
  • Prepare a "one pager" + submit per instructions
  • Prepare a presentation
  • Work with Celeste to schedule a presentation

RJ was asking today about Explaining CCE to others.  Having worked for CCE for 30+ years - I know how hard it can be - we are complex.  Here are a few videos + tips for "Explaining CCE":

Congrats to:

  • RJ, Mallory, and Meghan for reaching "level 6" - I dropped a fancy CCE Name Badge in the mail for you.
  • Meghan - you are our coffee card winner this week :) Expect to see that soon too.

Look for my check-in form in your e-mail on Monday :) Keep investing time in your professional development and reflecting on things you are learning.  You guys are awesome!
