Hi all - hope you are having a good week, or what I sometimes say...a "good enough" week :) - there are moments that this work is so busy - you need to "survive" so that you can move ahead and thrive.  That is from someone who has planned a lot of fairs LOL.

I know a few of you are working through Topic 2 - Assessing Needs right now.  There are some good resources to review in the topic, but one of my favorite strategies which I referred to in the discussion for Topic 2 - is using interviews.

I've written up the process here: https://cornell.box.com/s/4o2p5osf5moss32tr6d3tuciichocqlg

It involves considering what you want to know (a few key Qs), and then reaching out to a handful of key informants or stakeholders, asking them the Qs, and then documenting their response.  While what you are doing is not "research", this is a qualitative research method that allows you to move beyond any biases that you might have and listen for trends.

I have a template survey form that you can use in the Qualtrics Cornell University Qualtrics Library.  Directions on how to find it are on the form linked above.  You can see it here: https://cornell.yul1.qualtrics.com/jfe/preview/previewId/5a9fec37-b13b-4157-8f75-4d7bd120797a/SV_dmWYmlUBPQqW9hz?Q_CHL=preview&Q_SurveyVersionID=current

I hope this is helpful.

Look for my check-in form in your e-mail on Monday :).  Keep doing great things!!
