Journal Entry #2: Gardens & Personal Well-Being

Research has shown that proximity to plants can have a positive impact on our well being. People visit gardens for a variety of reasons: relaxation, immersion in a natural setting, peace and quiet, and sensory stimulation.

Public Garden

Think of a time when a public garden space, personal garden, or other landscape had an impact on your personal well being. What was the place, and what did it do for you? Remember to focus on reflecting on the experience and the feelings it evoked, not just describing the setting in detail. Although think about how the physical qualities or form of the garden evoked these feelings.
